Spine tumour
What Will It Cost?
Whilst in theory it is possible to obtain state funding for treatment in the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland, in practice the process has proved difficult.  You need to obtain an E112 approval before treatment and this is granted on a case by case basis.  You cannot use an E111 personal card.
Payment
Obviously treatment costs will vary from patient to patient and between centres, but hospital, accommodation and associated expenses are generally much lower than with conventional surgery.

Is E112 funding available for European patients?
Where possible we will give you an indication of likely charges when we receive your enquiry, but each centre will advise more fully before treatment.
Is CyberKnife treatment covered by private insurance?
The treatment centres can face similar problems and delays with some private insurance companies as they do with national health services.  The situation is improving but you may be required to pay first and reclaim later from your insurer, if that is possible.  If your insurer requires further information on CyberKnife radiosurgery you can refer them to this web site and to our web site for medical professionals, www.mhlmedical.com
Paying for treatment
Some patients may require additional hospital services, whilst others can be treated as outpatients.  Some patients only wish to enquire about CyberKnfe® treatment whilst others wish to have CyberKnife weighed against alternative treatments .  All these factors can affect which centre or centres you choose to apply to.
By using our Online Enquiry Form you can have your case assessed by up to three centres, to find out if you can be treated by CyberKnife and how much the treatment will cost, without any expense or commitment.
Please note that all centres require pre-payment in full or a substantial deposit before treatment.   Substantial savings may be made by using a specialist currency exchange company rather than your usual High Street bank.
The CyberKnife centres face long bureaucratic procedures and delays in receiving payments so most are reluctant to accept direct payment from national health insurers.  You should therefore be prepared to pay for treatment and reclaim the cost if you can, although this may not be compatible with your national E112 funding procedures.
Some insurers do cover CyberKnife but there is often a delay before companies include new medical treatments as they emerge.  Also not all polices allow for treatment in another countries, so you will need to check with your insurer.
